Parades and Processions

Any organization requesting a parade involving the closing of a PennDot highway and/or Borough Street should contact the Honesdale Borough Streets Committee Chair and the Honesdale Borough Police Chief prior to submitting the application.

The telephone number for Honesdale Borough is 570-253-0731 and the Honesdale Police Department is 570-253-1900.

Note:  At the March 26, 2012, Borough Council meeting, Councilors voted to limit the number of parades approved to the Memorial Day Parade, the Halloween Parade and the Santa Parade.

 

The organization will need to complete the following THREE DOCUMENTS for the event two months prior to the proposed event:

 

  1. BOROUGH FORM Temporary Road Closing – Form and Parade Route Map
  2. An insurance certificate listing the Borough as additional insured on the organization’s policy.
  3.  A completed PennDot form #TE-300 which can be obtained at www.dot.state.pa.us Click on Forms, Publications and Maps at the top of the page. Then click on FORMS, PUBLICATIONS & MAPS – A listing of electronically available items.  On page 54 of the forms, you need TE-300 for Special Events.
