Honesdale Borough Initial Response to COVID-19
Based upon the Governor’s emergency declaration concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, the Honesdale Borough Council shall hold public meetings via telephone conference or other electronic means, provided that the following conditions are met:
- The Borough posts on its website and at its municipal building that the meeting will not be held in-person but will be conducted via telephone conference or other electronic means.
- The Borough will post on its website and its municipal building how members of the public may access and participate in the public meeting.
- The Borough shall record the public meeting and will make the recording available to the public.
- This resolution shall remain in full force and effect until modified by further resolution.
In addition, Borough Council reviewed Governor Wolf’s declaration and mitigation incentives, as well as, Wayne County’s declaration and voted to restrict public access to Borough Hall, 958 Main Street, Honesdale. As of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, all transactions need to be conduced by United States Postal Service, telephone, fax or email for the administration office, parking department and building and zoning permit office. Parking ticket collection boxes are located throughout the downtown area. Each department can be reached at the general telephone number of 570-253-0731. The administration and parking offices are in operation from 9 AM to 3 PM weekdays while the building and zoning office is in operation from 9 AM to 1 PM weekdays. Stated again, that no in-person access will be conducted at the building. Please refer to the Borough website and outside bulletin board for notices pertaining to other Borough agencies and their meetings.
