Volunteer Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator

The Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator is appointed in accordance with Title 35 and serves as the primary authority for coordinating emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities within the municipality. This position provides leadership and oversight to ensure effective coordination among municipal departments, emergency services, county and state agencies, and community partners—particularly during the critical first 24 to 72 hours of an emergency or disaster.

The Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining the Municipal Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), identifying hazards and vulnerabilities, coordinating mitigation efforts, managing the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and ensuring compliance with state and federal emergency management requirements, including NIMS. Acting as the direct representative of elected officials during emergencies, the Coordinator facilitates communication, resource management, damage assessment, public information, training, and interagency cooperation to safeguard lives, property, and the continuity of municipal operations.

Full-Time/Part-Time Public Works Laborer

Honesdale Borough is seeking a permanent full-time/part-time public works employee with responsibilities in stormwater management, public works maintenance, snow plowing, and parks maintenance.

Job post summary

Pay: $16.00 – $22.00 per hour

Full-time/part-time public works laborers are needed with responsibilities in public works maintenance . Experience in snow plowing required. Experience in paving, mowing, concrete, electrical and plumbing is a plus. Some of the position functions: street maintenance activities with minimal supervision in the field; cleaning storm drains and drainage ditches; operate small and heavy equipment; collection of yard debris waste; perform general repairs and routine maintenance on Borough buildings and facilities.

Candidates must possess a valid PA driver license. Salary commensurate with experience. Background check required. Alcohol and Drug testing Program. Full-time benefits package including health, life, vision, and dental, pension, paid time off tier.
