On November 30, 2007, Honesdale Borough Council enacted Ordinance No. 626, Revising Chapter 187; Article III of the Code of the Borough of Honesdale now entitled Local Services Tax. Ordinance No. 626 is effective January 1, 2008. Under this Ordinance employers are required to submit a maximum of $52 for each Business owner and employee to the Borough. Tax deduction is based on the number of pay periods in your calendar year. Quarterly tax forms are due 30 days after the end of the quarter. Employees anticipating an annual income of less than $12,000.00 may file an exemption certificate with their employer and the Borough.
