Community Development Block Grant Program

Honesdale Borough receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds as an entitlement community.

Current CDBG projects include funding for the following:

1. FY2026 Allocation, Unknown. Paving-9th Street, from Church Street to the river; 10th Street from Church Street to the river; and Court Street from 6th Street to 12th Street.
2. FY2025 Allocation, $97,787.00. Paving -Cottage Street, Golden road, Carroll Street and Hillcrest Street
3. FY2024  Allocation, $80,619 paving portion of Westside Avenue (High Street through the intersection of 15th Street). 
4. FY2023   Forest Street repairs

Past CDBG projects included funding for the following:

1. FY2022   Modification paving of Cottage Street  (paving Ridge Street to Cherry St)
2. FY2021 $80,769.00 – Paving of Watts Hill (partial)
3. CDBG-CV – OBO Honesdale Boro. – Subsistence Rental / Mortgage payments and PPE Equipment and Sanitizing Supplies
4. FY2020-$79,725.00 -Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons for multiple locations (7)
5. FY2020 $25,852.00 -Mortgage / Rental Assistance Programs
6. 2020 – OBO Honesdale Boro.- Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB)
7. 2019 – OBO Honesdale Boro.- 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge
8. 2018 – OBO Honesdale Boro.- 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge

2018, 2019, 2020 & 2020 CDBG-CV projects are being administered by the Wayne County Redevelopment Authority.   2021 projects are being administered by Hailstone Economic.
