Mayor Derek Williams has declared a disaster proclamation prior to the anticipated storm event starting Sunday 1/25 at noon until further notice. Honesdale Borough officials remind residents that the storm carries with it periods of snow fall over several days with accumulation of 19-24 inches. The storm will make for dangerous travel with reduced visibility and slippery roads. Resident cooperation is asked so that Public Works drivers will be able to plow and stay ahead of the accumulation of ice and/or snow.
No parking will be allowed on Borough Streets during the duration of the disaster event.
Social media posts will provide additional information on warming stations and public service announcements.
