The Honesdale Borough Council is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the following positions:
UCC Board of Appeals – 1 Vacancy
The UCC Board of Appeals reviews and decides appeals related to the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC). The Board hears cases involving interpretations of the code, application of building regulations, and determinations made by the Building Code Official. Members evaluate technical information, review documentation, and issue fair and impartial decisions based on applicable codes and standards.
Property Maintenance Appeals Board – 3 Vacancies
The Property Maintenance Appeals Board hears appeals regarding property maintenance code violations and enforcement actions. The Board reviews cases where property owners contest notices, orders, or determinations issued by the Borough. Members consider evidence, interpret applicable regulations, and make objective decisions to ensure properties meet established safety and maintenance standards.
Qualifications
Applicants must have relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Construction trades
- Land development
- Code enforcement
- Engineering practices
- Related fields

Meetings are held on an as-needed basis.
